Who is behind the Lens
Coby graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Communication, specialising in International Journalism & Public Relations. She was soon drawn to online marketing and immersed herself in New York’s start-up scene for as long as she could afford before returning to Australia and taking on a national digital marketing role with Flight Centre Travel Group. As the number of countries she visited grew, so too did her social conscience. She left the corporate world in 2016 and embarked on a journey across South America. It was during this time Coby decided she wanted to become more involved in the field of science and make a contribution to public good. Shortly after returning to Australia, a friend introduced her to Cambia and The Lens project. It immediately felt like the right fit and she eagerly joined the team and their mission: to enable broader access to scholarly knowledge and the tools to help apply it to public benefit. Coby is dedicated to improving users’ experience of The Lens. She is always looking to understand a visitor’s need and ensure that the platform can meet it. From liaising with institutional partners to introducing new site features, her goal is to continuously advance the important message and useful capabilities of The Lens.
